Hello,
High school parents, on Friday, we mailed paper copies of your student's Star360 scores. On Monday, you will receive the Star360 reports through ParentSquare. Please use your account to access them. Reach out to
it@windhamcentral.org if you need help logging into the program.
Switching assessments, this year, Vermont will implement the Vermont Comprehensive Assessment Program (VTCAP), provided by Cognia, for the third time. The VTCAP is administered annually in the spring to students in grades 3 through 9 in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics, and to students in grades 5, 8, and 11 in science. The ELA and mathematics assessments are designed to measure students’ mastery of the Common Core State Standards. The science assessments are designed to measure students’ mastery of the Next Generation Science Standards. The VTCAP assessments are computer-adaptive with a variety of accessibility features available to students.
At Leland and Gray, these assessments include:
VTCAP English Language Arts and Mathematics: Grades 6-9
VTCAP Science Assessment: Grades 8 and 11
L&G will be testing the week of March 23rd. The testing will adjust our school day schedule. Students will be testing in the mornings starting at 8:00 AM.
If your high school student is not testing that day, they do not need to arrive before 9:45. If they do, they will be supervised by staff in the Library. ALL Middle School students should arrive at the regular time all week, regardless of the testing schedule.
March 24th ELA - Grades 6,7,8,9
March 25th Mathematics - Grades 6,7,8,9
March 26th ELA & Mathematics completion - Grades 6,7
March 26th Science - Grades 8,11
March 27th Science - Makeup testing 6,7,8,9,11
After students have completed testing, Individual Student Reports will be sent to families via Parent Square as soon as available (September, 2027). These reports will provide information on what your student(s) learned in relation to the statewide academic standards.
Please note that Vermont’s test delivery system uses state-of-the-art security features that protect your students’ privacy and adhere to all federal and state confidentiality regulations.
If you have any questions, please contact Carley Sanderson, MTSS and school testing coordinator.
