Hello Everyone,

Two fantastic events are taking place at Leland & Gray this week, in addition to the start of the sports season.

First, on Wednesday, we are hosting our  "college plus" fair again, where students will have exposure to colleges from around New England, as well as a variety of certificate/credential programs and businesses.

On Friday, April 17th, you are all invited to our Spring Intensives Showcase!

Leland and Gray faculty abandoned the regular curriculum for a week in March and led 14 different Intensives. They were multi-age, interest-driven groups intended to put students in their stretch zones in order to learn, grow, and develop long-lasting bonds. Some students traveled internationally, some traveled nationally, and others traveled regionally and locally. The Intensives Showcase is a celebration intended to highlight these achievements. The event is open to the community, and YOU are all invited to attend!

Starting at 9:30 in the L&G gym - there will be a kick-off assembly, and following the assembly, all guests will tour the school, visiting with the Intensive groups and enjoying displays. This should wrap up at around 11:45 am.  Please join us.

Stratton Foundation

This past year, the Stratton Foundation’s Head-to-Toe program provided school supplies, dental kits, winter coats, snow pants, mittens, hats, boots, socks, and sneakers to hundreds of children across southern Vermont. We are proud of this work and deeply grateful for the school liaisons, our volunteers and community partners who help make it possible.
If a child in your family or members of your school community participated in all or part of the program, we would greatly value your feedback.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey below.
[All respondents will be entered into a drawing: one (1) winner will receive a $100 Price Chopper grocery card, and one (1) winner will receive a $100 gas card.]

All responses will be kept confidential. We may share general results or anonymous quotes, but your name will never be published. Your feedback is essential in helping us evaluate and strengthen the program, as well as support future fundraising efforts.

We are here to help, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments.

Thank you,

Katie

Positive Action Team at the State House
The L&G Positive Action Team (PAT) travelled to the state house this past Thursday to participate in Prevention Day, an event that highlights youth-led prevention efforts happening across Vermont. The PAT presented about the work they have been doing to support the L&G community, which includes funding and installation of hygiene stations in L&G student bathrooms, designing and selling their own Positive Project swag (clothing items with positive messaging that raise funds for their projects), teacher appreciations, and plans for a Fun Run in May. The PAT also toured the statehouse, spoke to legislators, and were introduced to the House and Senate while in session. Learn more about the L&G PAT and Prevention Day.
